The ship was trying to avoid collision with another ship. After that suddenly it got list to the starboard side and became unstable. Obviously they had a shift of the wooden cargo. The captain Christoforos Toumazatos sent the rescue signal. The crew worried of the ship capsizing and jumped into the sea. They were later rescued by private boats and the coast guard. The Dive
Our team #kostafastgarnix dived the wreck on Sept 20th 2023. We got a short briefing by Nikos from Scubalife who goes to the wreck quite often. The appearence of the wreck is incredible – it really looks like a ghostship. It is fully covered by fishing net and diving there can be dangerous if you get in contact with one of the net. We took photos and videos and the 3D scan. Diving with Trimix and decompression with NX50.
