M/S Transport of Dagløkke — 28 Gross Register Tons (BRT). Built in 1886 of oak wood. On a voyage from Flensburg to Kerteminde carrying a cargo of coke. Sunk on April 9th in the Little Belt (Lillebælt); 1 crew member lost. Maritime inquiry held in Rudkøbing on May 13th.
At approximately 7:45 PM (19:45), while proceeding under engine power alone during a fresh WNW breeze with heavy snow squalls, Transport was passed by another vessel approximately 4 nautical miles west of the Skjoldnæs Lighthouse. On April 11th, a ship’s boat from Transport was found washed ashore on the east coast of Als.
Transport was later located sunk at a depth of 33 meters, approximately 2 nautical miles NW of Skjoldnæs, resting with open hatches. It must be assumed that the master, Captain Peder Johansen of Dageløkke, who was alone on board, drowned.
