The Giannis D, originally named Shoyo Maru, was a 99 meter cargo ship built in 1969 in Japan. On her last voyage in 1983, the Giannis D hit the reef at Shaab Abu Nuhas. She is now 25 meters underwater. The Giannis D is a truly spectacular wreck, another ‘must see dive site’ if you are diving the North Red Sea. Most of the divers only know the huge stern part of that wreck wich has a nice machine room and other easy accessible rooms.
