I dived and scanned the VSG GLORY that sunk December 2024 after hitting the reef in front of the Mövenpick Resort at El Quseir. It lies in approx. 30-60m water depth. The VSG Glory was a 100 metre long and almost 19 metre wide freighter built in 1994. The cause of the accident was apparently strong winds in combination to a technical defect. The cargo was of 4,000 tons of bran (food) in bags. Unfortunately this bran messed up the visibility in the capsized deck sections, so that the scan in these area wasn’t possible.
