Wreck of a Grumman Albatross Airplane in the Deep South of the Egyptian Red Sea waters close to the Sudanese border. This aircraft is an Grumman HU-16 Albatross manufactured in the United States between 1947 and 1959. The wreck rests at a depth ranging from 5 to 14 meters on the sandy bottom adjacent to an unnamed reef. Despite minimal damage, notable features such as the propellers and most instruments are missing.
The dive
I dived and scanned the wreck during the Red Sea Wreck Academy tour on the M/Y Charlotte Red Sea in July 2025.
